Addressing the Citizens, as well as alluding problems with Krylya Sovetov, he noted that league is quite naturally concerned with the situation but will do everything within its power to ensure their survival. Acknowledging Norilsk Nickel's decision to pull their ongoing investment of the Citizens, he did however note that the club would have till 15 February to provide proof of its financial stability or their professional license would be reexamined. Though their is cautious optimism that FC Moskva president Igor Dmitriev will arrange much needed financing, the clock is ticking quickly.
There is good reason to believe that every option in this situation is being considered given the highly detrimental effect the loss of one, if not two clubs would have upon domestic competition. Should the worst-case situation occur and both FC Moskva and Krylya Sovetov are forced to withdraw, the league will be in the dubious position of choosing between pulling Kuban Krasnodar and FC Khimki back from relegation or further promoting Alaniya Vladikavkaz and Volga Nizhny Novgorod from the First Division. Quite naturally, such an occurrence is highly damaging to the leagues growing reputation and followers should expect the midnight oil to burnt through backrooms throughout the week as a solution is sought.
We are highly concerned about current situation in FC Moskva, said Pryadkin after the meeting with Sergey Fursenko and Igor Dmitriev. But unfortunately Russian football management will have to decide their future in accordance with future course of events.
Both Pryadkin and Fursenko are worried about our current problems, said FC Moskva president Igor Dmitriev. They let me know that if our financial problems are solved, RFU would be glad to see our club in Premier League this season.
Meanwhile “Konvers Group” company, which expressed their readiness to acquire FC Moskva shares, sent official letters to heads of FC Moskva, “Norilsky Nickel”, “Sport Projects”, Russian Football Union and Russian Football Premier League.
