"Kovi is the image of our club both on the ice and outside it", underlined Waddell in the interview to Sport Express. "When he got injured more than two weeks ago, we were afraid that the season would be lost for us".

"In absence of Ilya we survived with three victories and three losses. We didn’t expect him to return to the ice so quickly, so his comeback helped us a lot in New York game and we won".

"We usually don’t take injured players to away matches, but he wanted to be a part of the team and support his partners".

"Kovi came up to me and said that he wanted to go with us to away series in Canada as the club’s captain and I allowed him to do it. Of course he wasn’t in the locker rooms before the match, however he supported his teammates all the time".

"Broken bone will hurt for a long time and it’s quite natural. Don’t worry, because doctor allowed him to play hockey when Kovi didn’t feel pain in his foot".
