Last season Nashville forward Alexandr Radulov switched to Salavat Yulaev with a scandal as he had a running contract with the NHL club. Throughout the whole season NHL and IIHF frightened him with suspension and asked to come back, however Alexandr decided to stay in Russia.
"Frankly speaking I try not to think about Nashville and that scandal as I don’t want to waste my energy on it", said Radulov to Sport Express. "Now I play in Salavat Yulaev".
"I understand that everybody is interested in what I am doing now and what is happening in my life, but I don’t like discussing it".
"My contract with Salavat Yulaev will run for two years more. I won’t hide that I have an offer from NHL, however I am satisfied with my career in Russia".
"I don’t consider any variants of moving somewhere as I can’t put Ufa in a spot".
"During the World championship in Switzerland the IIHF adopted the rule which won’t let players with acting contracts in NHL switch to the Kontinental Hockey League. I don’t know how it will work and how they will fight with it as NHL and KHL don’t have any agreements".
"Salavat Yulaev took my side and any other KHL team would probably protect their players".
"I would call the World Championship in Switzerland as one of the best tournaments in my career. It was the most outstanding one because I had more playing time and coaches trusted me more".
"When you play for the national team, you shouldn’t forget that you have the national emblem of the Russian Federation on your sweater and millions of your compatriots support you. That is why you need to give your best on the ice".
"The season was very tough because we had to play both in KHL and the Champions League and we had practically no free time".
"But we don’t search for any excuses and we want to apologize to our fans. We should have play in play-offs more confidently".
"We knew that our series against Avangard would be an easy walk. They had an up-and-down campaign during the whole season and they had nothing to lose".
"It was their last chance to rehabilitate in front of their supporters and they outplayed us".
