The skater had his meniscus injured which led to regular acute pains in the knee.
Plushenko's coach Alexei Mishin said to Sport Express that the skater was operated on in a clinic specializing in knee surgery not far from Munich.
"The only thing I know now is that the surgery was completed successfully," added the coach.
