BASKETBALL: SUPERLEAGUE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Sport Express brings all the results of the Russian Superleague matches held this weekend.


Triumph vs. Krasnye Krylya – 70:72
(16:9, 15:19, 21:21, 18:23)

Best players: in Triumph – Rush (15), Nesterov (13), Likhodey (10); in Krasnye Krylya – Bremer (25), Biggs (13), Flores (11).

The competition was tough throughout the entire match and neither of the teams managed to create a considerable lead.

And the ending turned really fantastic. With one minute till the buzzer Bremer scored a three-pointer and the guests led 69:65. In the return attack Vyaltsev with a 6-meter throw reduced the margin to the minimum.

After a wide shot of Bremer Panin gave the team of Lyubertsy a lead with 1,7 seconds to play. Krylya asked for a timeout and again Bremer scored a very difficult game-winning angle-shot.

Spartak St. Petersburg vs. CSKA – 82:96 (15:26, 25:27, 23:21, 19:22)

Best players: in Spartak – Mescheryakov (18), Rakovic and White (both – 14), Kolesnikov (12); in CSKA – Siskauskas (25), Planinic (17), Kaun (16), Mensah-Bonsu (12).

"I am disappointed with the game we showed through the most of the game", said the head coach of Spartak Zvi Scherf. "But even if we have played better it would have been very difficult to outplay CSKA".

"The guys played well, they were focused during the entire match", commented Evgeniy Pashutin, caretaker of the Moscow team. "Our coaching staff analyzed the opponent and we did not let the hosts play their basketball".

Khimki vs. Dynamo – 94:76 (26:13, 23:24, 15:22, 30:17)

Best players: in Khimki – Fridzon (23), McCarty (20), Jankunas (12), Cabezas (10); in Dynamo – Bykov (23), Savrasenko and Monya (both – 13).
