KAZIKOV: CANADA WAITS FOR OVECHKIN AND PLYUSCHENKO

As the Vancouver Olympic games are approaching, the vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee Igor Kazikov talked to Sport Express about Russian team’s preparations.

"The Russian village will officially open on February 10 at the ceremony of hoisting the Russian flag, but the first athletes will come there on Friday", said Kazikov.

"Even NHL players understand that conditions at the Olympic village are equal for everyone, but nevertheless we are ready for any demands of our athletes. If someone feels uncomfortable we will do everything possible to solve the problem".

"Majority of teams got an opportunity to visit Olympic venues one year ago during Olympic training camps. Almost are arenas are tested and are ready for competitions".

"People in Canada are interested in Russian hockey players, for example Alexandr Ovechkin. They are waiting Evgeniy Plyuschenko too and it seems that Canadians know about Russian sportsmen even more than Russians".
