The Argentinean midfielder, who currently plays in San Lorenzo on a loan, extended his contract with FC Moskva for one year. The loan of the 24-year-old player to San Lorenzo will expire on July 1 and he will have to return to the Moscow club.
Meanwhile he could possibly continue his career in one of the clubs from the Serie A on a loan again. Italian club is ready to count on his services even despite Barrientos still passes rehabilitation process after he picked an injury last February.
"We are close to sign the deal on loaning Barrientos to one of Italian clubs", said Moskva president Igor Dmitriev.
"We are actively hold talks with them and I think we will reach a mutual agreement".
