The Canadian goalie underlined that he would be glad to return to NHL in future, which makes possibility of his quit very high.
Avalanche bosses are not satisfied with their goalies’ performance after they conceded 22 goals in six games. Emery’s contract has been paid off by his former club Ottawa in pre-season break, but then signed a year-contract with Atlant. KHL team managers claim that his contract doesn’t envisage possibility of his quit during the season, so it’s still unclear how Colorado will manage to complete the move.
"Considering unknown relations with NHL, it’s hard to foresee anything," said Atlant head coach Fedor Kanareikin to Sport Express yesterday. "Emery is a strong goalkeeper and we would like to continue working with him. Ray has an acting contract until the end of the season, and we hope he won’t leave us earlier."
