Russia's youngster Teimuraz Gabashvili outlasted the vastly experienced Chilean 6:4, 6:1, 3:6, 5:7, 6:4 to get into US Open second round.
Almost all Russian men who entered the competition have made the second round with Engeny Korolev and Dmitry Tursumov being the only ones to lose in the openers.
